What it is
Ludo is the family race game that grew out of Pachisi, the cross-and-circle game played in India for centuries. Each player has four tokens waiting in a coloured yard. Roll the die to bring them out, race them clockwise round the board and up your own coloured path to the middle. Land on a rival and they go back to the start.
On Khel ON, two to four players share the board in any mix of people and bots. Play the bots at Easy, Normal or Hard, pass one phone around the family, or pick a quick game with two tokens each. A short how-to opens before your first game and helper tips explain each new idea as it happens. Win against the bots to earn stars and collect badges. There are no coins, chips or betting.

How to play
Roll a 6 to start
Everyone starts with their tokens in their yard. Roll a 6 to bring one out onto your coloured start square. (You can switch this off so a 1 or a 6 works.)
Race round the board
Move one token as many squares as you rolled. Tokens go clockwise all the way round, then turn up your own coloured path to the middle.
Catch your rivals
Land exactly on a rival's token and it goes back to its yard. Stars and the coloured start squares are safe: nobody can be caught there.
Bonus rolls and getting home
Rolling a 6, catching a token or getting a token home gives you another roll, but three 6s in a row ends your turn. You need the exact number to reach the middle. The first player with every token home wins.
Ways to play
Against bots
Easy makes friendly mistakes. Normal catches when it can and heads for safe squares. Hard weighs every token's risk and plans for the next roll.
With family
Up to four people share one phone or tablet and pass it round. Any empty seat can be a bot.
Quick game
Two tokens each for a game of about ten minutes. Turn the house rules on or off before you start.
