What it is

Ghar Ka Quiz is a multiple-choice quiz for families and friends. There are six packs to pick from: Festivals of South Asia, Desi Food, Cricket, Maps & Places, Kids Corner and Proverbs & Words, or a Mix of all of them. Every question has four answers and a “Did you know?” to read after.

Play online with 2 to 8 players: one phone, laptop or TV browser shows the quiz, and everyone answers on their own phone. Play pass and play with 2 to 6 people on one phone; the question hides while the phone changes hands. Or practise solo against three computer quizzers at Easy, Normal or Hard. Nothing is typed: you just tap A, B, C or D.

How to play

  1. Read the question

The question comes up first. After a moment the four answers open and the clock starts: 20 seconds, or 30 with “Kids get extra time”.

  2. Tap your answer

Every answer has a shape and a letter as well as a colour. Answers stay secret until everyone has locked in.

  3. See who got it right

The right answer lights up with everyone’s picks on it, and a “Did you know?” tells you something new. Quick right answers score up to 1000 points, falling to 500 at the buzzer.

  4. Win the podium

Scores come up between rounds. Play Quick (10 questions), Classic (3 rounds of 7) or Long (5 rounds of 7). The winner takes the top step.

Good to know

Show on TV

Online, the host can choose “Show on TV”: a laptop or TV browser shows the questions big, with the join code beside them, and everyone answers on their phones.

Online play

The host picks the packs and sends a link. Everyone gets a fun name; there are no accounts, no typed chat and no photos, only eight set phrases. The table is deleted when the host closes it.

Stars and badges

Earn stars for right answers and badges like Speedster, Perfect round, On a roll and a Know-it-all for each pack. A solo or pass-and-play quiz is saved on your device.
