What it is

Gully Cricket is street cricket made for Khel ON. You play in Mango Lane, between rows of painted houses, or in Society Park. It uses the rules every gully knows. The far wall is four. Over a roof or the far wall without a bounce is six. A one-handed catch after one bounce is out. Hit a window and you're out too. The last batter can bat on alone.

Batting is one tap: tap as the ball reaches the glowing line. Swipe to aim, or swipe up to hit it in the air. Bowling is two taps. Pick pace or spin, stop the line, then stop the length. Play the computer at Easy, Normal or Hard. Take on four colony teams in the Gully Cup, pass one phone around, or play online with 2 to 6 friends in two teams. A tie goes to a Super Over. You earn stars and badges, and there is no betting.

How to play

  1. Bat

Tap the lane just as the ball reaches the glowing line. The ball’s shadow shows where it bounces. Early goes to the leg side, late to the off side, or swipe left or right to aim.

  2. Hit it in the air

Swipe up as you tap, or switch on In the air. Clear a roof or the far wall for six, but fielders can catch you, and one tip one hand counts.

  3. Bowl

Pick Pace or Spin. Tap once to stop the line and again to stop the length. Outside the dashed chalk lines is a wide.

  4. Gully rules

Wall is four, window is out, one tip one hand and last man batting. Switch any of them off under My rules, and choose a tennis ball or a taped ball.
