Four players in two partnerships; partners sit opposite. Play goes to the right (anticlockwise). Aces are high.
The dealer gives everyone five cards. The player on the dealer's right is the caller: they choose trumps (the rung) from those five cards. Then everyone gets eight more cards, four at a time.
The caller leads first. You must follow the led suit if you can; otherwise play anything. The highest trump wins, or else the highest card of the led suit. The winner leads next.
Tricks pile up in the middle. A player takes the whole pile only by winning two tricks in a row. The 13th trick takes whatever is left. A court needs all thirteen tricks.
The caller places a trump card face down. A player who can't follow suit may ask to see it, and then must trump if they can. Cards played before the reveal never count as trumps.
Slide your finger along your hand to pick a card, then tap it again (or flick it up) to play.
